So much has happened since we last talked!!
Our new space has been a perfect fit for our dancers. It was a lot of work, and made for a not very relaxing March Break, but I wouldn't have liked it any other way. A big shout out to my mom and the guys at MDS Contracting. There is no way I could have done it with out them. If you haven't seen in it person yet, stop buy (during office hours) or call to set up an appointment.
We are well into Gala prep! All our costumes are now in house and our dancers have been trying them on. All the dancers are working so hard to get ready and excitement is really starting to build. 2:00 pm, June 22nd at the Port Hope Memorial Park Band Shell.
Fall planning has started. Interviewing a for new staff, meetings with new students, and so much more. Our 2nd year will have everything you love about us as well as a few new program. Is there something you would like to see us offering next season? Leave a comment below.

Welcome back to another month and a new year! With a new year comes a new start. Even though I have only been working on Just Dance for a year, there were a few things that I wanted to improve. One area I significant wanted to improve was our brand awareness on social media. I have been attending seminars and webinars regularly to try and learn as much as I can. I'm finding it really hard to stay on top of something that is always changing.
Who doesn't spend hours cruising through Instagram or checking up on your latest gossip on Facebook? Oh and you can't forget snapchat or Bitmoji's! I have a love/hate relationship with any and all forms of Social Media. Well... I think it's more love then hate. I enjoy the personal Social Media trip, but for the business.... well that hard!!
Content, content, content, content... I am always running out of content! I have no idea what to post or what you (the viewer) will like. SIDE NOTE- What makes you click the little HEART on Instagram or Twitter, or give something a 'thumbs up' on Facebook?? I have realized that don't give out a lot of 'likes'. I really have to like something for me to hit that button. Or you have to be a good friend. I can't remember the last time I give a 'thumbs up' to something a brand had posted. -
I think like most things, I'm overthinking it. What would you like to see on our Social Media pages? Pictures of the dancers, quotes, ticks, upcoming events? Better question, what wouldn't you like to see? What posts would make you 'unfollow' us? - Comment below!
Looks like a missed a few months... Time seemed to have gotten away. So many exciting things have been happening at the studio.
As we quickly approach the holiday season, I like to look back at the past year. Top 3 moments:
1. Opening Just Dance
2. Learning more about this great community
3. Finally setting into our new home.
As we move forward into 2019, our event calendar is packed. June 22nd will be our first annual Gala! It will take place at the Marmoreal Park Bandshell. This event will be open to anyone who would like to watch. Make sure to Bring-Your-Own-Chair.
We will be starting to prepare our schedule for the 2019-2020 dance season (available in May). We are also working out the details of offering summer day camps.
I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and all the best in 2019!!
The last few months have flown past!! I can't believe we are almost to the beginning of classes. Watching this grown and become a living, breathing adventure that I'm now show sharing with community - makes me so proud.
There have been so many helping hands along the way. I've been overwhelmed with the support not only from my family & friends, but from friends of friends and the community. The fact the people are willing to be part of the journey and take a risk on myself and my staff is heart warming and shows what we can do as a community. I'm confident that this is just the beginning of something special.
My staff and I are ready for you!! We have been carefully planning and organizing classes to ensure that dancers are in appropriate classes. We want your dancer to be comfortable, allowing them to grown and become the best dancer they can be. This is something we will continue to do well into the 2018-19 dance season.
We have been working on special events. We are hoping to have our first of many Dance Intensive/Workshops before Thanksgiving. Beginning with our Staff we will be offering classes in different styles, levels, and abilities. We welcome dancers from all over Northumberland County to join us. These events are all about sharing the art and helping dancers achieve excellence. We will also be welcoming dancers to Bring-a-Friend to dance. This will be a fundraiser for a local charity. Information about all these events will be available on you website as well as our social media plat forms.
Make sure you like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram!!
There has been so much on the go!! My apologies for the late post, but things have been nuts. I enjoyed a wonderful trip to PEI this summer, just in before things started to get busy. It is beautiful out there and I can't wait to go back.
Everything is coming together nicely at the studio. With a great amount of help from family and friends we are going to reach out August 9th deadline. The floor arrived on Thursday. With the help of the amazing delivery guys from Sport Court, we were able to get the floor upstairs without any issues. We installed it over the weekend and couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
Mirrors should be installed on Wednesday. After that there is about a half day of painting and the space will be ready for our amazing dancers.
Make sure you join us on September 9th for our Grand Opening. Ribbon cutting is at 6:00pm.
Are you getting excited?!?! We sure are!!
There are so many things happening right now I don't even know where to start. Registration opens on Friday June 29th (earlier then that if you keep an eye on our website), we move into our space on July 3rd and Bell is coming to set up all our tech stuff on June 5th. If you are out and about, step by and say 'Hi' I'd love to meet you.
We have teachers!! Kayla and Christian are going to be great and I'm looking forward to seeing them share their passion in our beautiful space. August 9th will be are grand opening celebration. You don't want to miss this amazing night. Free classes with a guest teacher, cake and snacks, special draws and many other activities!! More information about our Grand Opening will be available in early July. We will be offering some free trial classes on Wednesday August 15th & 22nd. Registration is every Wednesday night in August from 4:00-8:00.
We are also excited to announce that we will be offering Mommy & Me classes starting in September. We are also working on the details of offering a camp late August.
WOW the list keeps going!!!
Don't you LOVE our new Logo? (click here to check it out) Thank you to Krystal Klear Designs for this amazing design. She also set us up with some amazing business cards. You have to visit us in person to get your hands on one of those. We have also been working hard on other promotional products (flyers, handbooks, stickers). As well as, interview instructors and setting up specialty workshops and master classes. We will be offering these classes to all dancers and instructors, even if you are not a full time dancer with us. I am most excited about the launch of our official website - coming mid June. This beautiful design will have everything you need to know about Just Dance. Prices, tentative class schedule, instructors, upcoming events, and continuing with our blog.
Hello and welcome to The Journey!
You might be asking yourself - Who is Tracy Lowe and why should we follow what you she up to? Well I am a dancer instructor, performer, and entrepreneur. I am passionate about dance and helping young people become the best they can be. I have been involved in dance since the age of 6 and have been an industry professional for over 20 years. During this time I have directed, owned, manage, danced and taught at different dance studios throughout central Ontario. All this well continuing to develop myself a professional performer.
After my family and I relocated to Northumberland County earlier this year, I was struggling to find a career that interested me. Having owned Nothing But Dance in Fenelon Falls ON, I decided it was time to come back to this dream in a new area. I feel the name Just Dance is a fun twist on Nothing But Dance.
